Currently Reading: Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport ๐
Pretty sure this is one of the (many many) books found through micro.blog.

Finished Reading: Animorphs #33: The Illusion by K. A. Applegate ๐
I keep telling myself I’m going to take a break from these and read some nonfiction, but I can’t. They are too engrossing, too ridiculous, too horrific to put down. Plus, since it is a reread of my childhood obsession, it is like visiting old friends.
This one was especially rough.

Turned today’s eggplant harvest into mutabal. The multiple steps involved in eggplant recipes are often a deterrence, so this one may be the new go-to since it is so simple.

๐งถ Made a lil baby using a Woobles kit. A bit pricey, but the structure and step by step videos were great for an absolute beginner. Plus they send so much extra yarn you could probably make two.

Started this in May as a going away gift for some friends. Been working on it fairly consistently since then. Tonight I finally sewed the backing on. This week it will be loaded into a pizza box and shipped up to Washington. They have no idea it exists.
It feels weird to finally be done.
The piece is in a 12in hoop. I’ve embroidered before, but this was my first cross stitch, and needless to say, I grossly underestimated how long it would take. Luckily, it is a good hobby to pick up if you can’t sit still during movies/TV shows.
Pattern is from Mama Witch XStitch
This was fun, but I’m not sure I’ll be ready to attempt another one for a while.

Well, I decided to start this ol' micro.blog back up.
Here’s a photo dump of some moments from the past few weeks.
๐
- Jarring up dried thyme and purple sage.
- Waiting to sell my car. Featuring a pin of Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill (from Animorphs) and his cinnamon bun.
- Sweet alyssum growing out of a crack in the sidewalk. Spotted on the way home from the community garden.
- Tofu Frittata. Trying to get creative with tomato placement.
- Yellow morel mushroom growing in our planter.
- Mending my favorite old sweatshirt. Still have a lot more work to do.
